What Is Bulk IP Lookup Used For?
Bulk IP lookup lets you query geographic and network data for many IP addresses in one operation, rather than checking them one by one. It's commonly used by:
- Security analysts โ investigating a list of IPs from server logs, firewall alerts, or a threat feed to identify their origin and ISP.
- Developers โ enriching application logs with location data for analytics or fraud detection.
- Network administrators โ auditing access logs to understand where traffic is coming from.
- Marketing teams โ segmenting visitor data by country or region from raw log exports.
What Data Does It Return?
For each IP address, the lookup returns the country, city, region, postal code, ISP or hosting organisation, timezone, and reverse hostname where available. Data is sourced from IPInfo's regularly updated database.
Accuracy and Limitations
IP geolocation is accurate to the country level for over 99% of IPs, and to the city level for around 80%. Accuracy is lower for mobile networks, satellite connections, and IPs behind VPNs or proxies. Private and reserved IP ranges (such as 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x) cannot be geolocated and will return an error.
